Eclipse is categorised as a Secret weather event in Grow a Garden 2. It is part of the rotating server-wide weather system, where each event applies a temporary rule to the garden — usually a chance to apply one or more mutations to ripe crops.

The optimal play during a Eclipse window is to have high-value multi-harvest crops ripe on the plot when the event starts, so the mutation roll has the widest possible target set. Crops with a high base sell value benefit most from a multiplier roll; cheap crops gain little.
